Aug. 5th, 2004 12:33 pm*You know that scene in Big where Tom Hanks makes his way from his bunk bed to the bathroom? The part where he closes the medicine cabinet and has a minor freak out? And yes, even the part with the whole peering down the boxer shorts? That's roughly how Raph's morning has gone.
Slowly he remembers fumbling up the wall the night before. He'd like to think it's because of the three shots of Jack he had, not to mention the margaritias, but really, he knows it's cause he's not used to being like this. He's noticing that he's just not as strong as he used to be.
He gets dressed, throwing on his now ill-fitting black cargo pants. He grabs one of his throwing knives and makes them into knee length shorts. They're not long enough to be decent pants anyway. He finds one of his old black T-shirts, and while it's a little bit big, his extra height helps make up the difference in size.
He gives himself another once over in the mirror. As he fumbles with his hair, he can't help but think of Casey. Before he leaves he buddy tapes his extra fingers together, ties his bandana loosely around his neck, and grabs a hockey mask before leaving the tent.
The Climb down the wall is just as awkward as the climb up it was. He gets about half way, and then just gives up, jumping down from the wall. Again, he doesn't stick the landing, but thankfully he knows how to fall. One of the first things Splinter taughtthem him: How to fall.
He doesn't make eyecontact with anyone in the bar or notice the rising water level, Raph goes straight out to the lake, breaking into a run when he hits the grass. Normally, when doing something like full out running, he'd have to put his bandana on. It was the only thing that kept the sweat from stinging his eyes. Now that he has actual eyebrows, the bandana seems kind of silly. After one full lap, he dips his head into the lake to wet his hair.
Now he's hungry. Really hungry.
Biproduct of being endothermic, is the need to eat on a daily basis.
With that, he makes his way into the bar proper.
