[OOM: Up on the roof]

*Raph had forgotten how much of a pain in the ass the tent was to set up by himself. He'd had Andrew to help with the set up and break down on their trip, and Death was there the last time he needed to put it on the roof.

Death.
He misses her so much.

He wipes at the sweat beading on his forehead, and is greeted in turn by the stinging, burning sensation that comes with having a quickly developing sunburn.*

"Look, I'm not here to argue. I'm not here for details. I just wanted to give you warning that she's looking for you, and has been since you left. Okay?

Geez, you try to do a good deed, and this is the thanks you get."

"That she kissed you the other night. And that you freaked and split town.

Mike takes a step back.

"Woah, careful there. I'm not properly armed to defend myself against Raph Logic."

Funny thing, about news travelling fast. So it was that the crown of a head covered in curly dark brown hair and a pair of bright blue eyes peered just over the edge of the roof.

She wasn't sure she wanted to go all the way up. She just wanted a visual confirmation.

"Well, you could do that, but then you might accidentally hit April who's trying to be sneaky on the ladder behind us."

*Raph turns quickly, towards the usually place for ladder placement.*

April sunk down a bit more in her place, although it was more from embarassment than trying to hide.

"It's sad, really. You'd think she'd be better at this by now."

"Yes?"

She was just hanging there on the ladder, not looking at him.

"One mustn't lurk in door ways. It's rude. One might question your upbringing

Come on, you've been dying to see him since he left. He's here, let's not dilly dally. Chop chop."

"Just wanted to make sure you were okay am leaving now," April replied, although it all came out rather like one word. She took a step back down the ladder, then up and then back down again.

"Hmmm. Looks like that ladder's broken."

Mike walks over, takes April by the hand, leading her onto the roof in a manner that doesn't allow arguement.

"Here, let me try. I'm a professional, afterall."

He goes down the ladder. Several awkward second go by, until finally Mike proclaims from the ground.

"Seems to work fine for me, but additional test must be made. I'll let you know when the diagnostics are complete."

*Raph kind of just looks at her for a moment or two, before getting back to work assembling the tent.*

April was careful to avoid his gaze.

"Yeah." She hesitated. "You?"

April shifted her weight awkwardly, worrying her bottom lip with her teeth. Everything that she had thought to say seemed utterly wrong now that she was in the moment.

*He slides the fiberglass poles through the canvas. Magic crackles like static.*

April made a small noise and turned so that her back was to him, her hand pressed against her mouth, eyes closed.
